This is my first tutorial so bare with me, I hope I explain this well enough and your pom poms are a success. I bought several pom poms for Miss cherubs bedroom then when they arrived I seen how easy they looked so I made some myself. It’s relatively easy and they look so pretty as decor features.
Get tissue paper and lay several layers equally, the more you have the thicker the pom pom. The larger your pieces the larger the pom pom, the length of your tissue paper will be double that of the pom pom.
Fold it back and forth in equal portions like a fan.
Fold this over on itself, in half to resemble a fan.
Tie a ribbon or string in the centre of the fan and cut the end that it still connected.
Open the fan on both sides and slowly start separating your layers lifting them upwards very slowly so they don’t tear. Then do the bottom side, gently separating some downwards.
Once they’re all separated shape the pom pom so it resembles a ball and covers the centre ribbon.
Remember the thicker the better.
These are a great decorating feature and look fab hanging from the ceiling in kids rooms.
